A new novel by Anita Desai, 'The Zigzag Way', has come out recently. Normally her women characters are flat and uni-dimensional. They come across more as victims of their circumstances, and do not display any self-affirmative zeal.In this novel too, the protagonist is a male. Any comment on the women characters of Anita Desai?
