Recently I had the oppurtunity to read the autobiography of my idol - APJ Abdul Kalam. Its called "Wings of Fire" and contains a few golden moments of Indian Pride through Abdul Kalam. His life, knowledge and humbleness are inspiring. He is indeed one of the greatest scientists of our time. If you dont know who is behind our indigenious satellites, you will know now. His experiments with Nandi, SLV3 and Agni are interesting to read (incl. the scientific notes which are easy to understand).

I definitely think the book is worth buying.

  I and my friend readed u'r book "wings of fire" its superb book for youngsters,college student like me,I'm doing my engg in mech in Tamil nadu.
  
  Actually i selected this course for pursue my higher studies in Merchant navy.I'm an average boy in schooling n in college after reading u'r books i feel how u fighted,in college life and school life,its a lesson to me here after i also going to fight like u and my only ambition to join in Merchant navy (or) Indian navy and serving for my nation n my parents..

  iam ex-student of sainik school sujanpur tihra(Himachal Pradesh).it is under ministry of defence. our school is celebrating its' silver jubilee(25 years) this year.our school authorites and alumni were thinking that you would be the chief guest. last time when we celebrated our decennary(10 years),the then president sh R S Venkatraman was our chief guest. we all students were eagerly waiting for your arrival as it would have rejuvenatad students, staff and whole school alumni.but we came to know that higher authorities(outside school) refused inviting you as chief guest citing some compulsions and problems. what we think is ,that this is just an excuse.probably they do not want to get themselves engaged in any hassles of providing security to you.please look into this matter as soon as possible. Do come as chief guest. we shall be highly obliged. function is on 2nd November 2003.

  How very pathetic. EVERY1 here is writing "Dear president, please email me", "please give me some tips"...This is the president of INDIA for cryin' out loud, not your girlfriend! He has more important things to worry about than answering your silly questions on "the meaning of life". Get a life and go to your profs/professionals for some answers.

  I have to agree with your view that the requests /opinions posted here with most certainity won't reach the Hon. President of India. However, this can inspire a lot of Indian youth who are reading these, that their fellow country man(woman) are focussed on their career, want to fight corruption, etc. Let people post their opinions about how the book changed their lifes.Who knows one day the fact that many are influenced by his book, the President might write another book which might answer multitude questions posted here.
