Vidya:
This is apparently an amazing book.I haven t read the book but have come across reviews and excerpts from the book.
The book was written somewhere in the 30s by Fynn.
Strangely, there is not much information available about the author in the web.
There are two other books by the same author ; Anna and the Black Knight and Anna s book.
Below given is an excerpt from Mr.God This is Anna.Hope Ill get to read the book soon.Could you talk more about the book?
...After the evening meal was finished and all the bits and pieces put away, Anna and I would settle down to some activity, generally of her choosing. Fairy stories were dismissed as mere pretend stories; living was real and living was interesting, and by and large, fun. Reading the Bible wasn't a great success. She tended to regard it as a primer, strictly for the infants... Religion was for doing things, not for reading about doing things. Once you had got the message there wasn't much point in going over and over the same old ground. Our local parson was taken aback when he asked her about God. The conversation went as follows:
"Do you believe in God?"
"Yes."
"Do you know what God is?"
"Yes."
"What is God then?"
"He's God!"
"Do you go to church?"
"No."
"Why not?"
"Because I know it all!"
"What do you know?"
"I now to love Mister God and to love people and cats and dogs and spiders and flowers and trees" and the catalog went on "with all of me." Anna had bypassed all the nonessentials and distilled centuries of learning into one sentence: "And God said love me, love them, and love it, and don't forget to love yourself."

Mr. God This Is Anna, is an awesome book that I would recomend to anyone who is interested in learning about God in a new way!! Anna is comletely loveable! Her relationship with Fynn is not highly common, I guess that's what makes this book so interesting! It is such a good book, that I am going to read it again. You always understand things a little differently the second time around. This book is worth another go!

Hi Brittany,
I think it ll be immensely helpful if you can pen down your thoughts on the book after the first dip you had in it.Hopefully you ll also gain from the effort and d make your second dip even sweeter.
Thanks.

Hi Vidya, "Mr God THis is Anna" happens to be one of my favourite books. I found a copy of the book in the school library and since then have read it through several times. It seems like everytime there is something that I've missed before. I've read the other two books as well, however IMO the first one seems to be the best.
In another message board I read the author, Fynn, is still alive (ca. 1998). ANyhow, on the dust-jacket of the 1998 Harper Collins edition it is said that Fynn is writing the fourth book, "Anna and the VIcar".

I love the book, "mister God, This Is Anna" by Fynn. It's my favorite! I just finished writing my first children's book, about an Angel who's about Anna's age. my next step is to try and get it published. I read Fynn's book all of the time. I want to get the other one, "Anna's Book". Has anyone out there read that one?

Anna (though my reading of 'Anna's Book' and 'Mr. God, this is Anna') has become very dear to me. I
have learned much from her. After 7 years (since
I first met her through 'Anna's Book'), I still
grieve for this precious child, while she never
grieved for herself. Do not read this book if you are not prepared to become emotionally involved with this very unique and precious being.

Hello fans of Mr. God, This is Anna. It is a remarkable book I believe. I read it in 1984 during a period of my life when I felt very confused, nearly overwhelmed because of what I thought originally were the effects of a terrible blow on my head. It seemed to me I'd had brain damage, but over a period of time I became aware there were other explanations, and one of them was contained in Mr. God, This is Anna. She was so close to Mr. God, he was 'in her middle', always present. After reading the book I began to think of myself in a new way, because I'd not been religious. Anna said she was a viewing point for Mr. God, and somehow that idea began to seep into my mind, along with the distinct awareness that Mr. God, had rather slowly begun to make me aware he was and always has been, 'in my middle'. There are small experiments in the book that made me think in different ways about ordinary every day activities, developing almost magically an understanding of ideas that formerly I'd not known about. I believe it was one of the most important books I've ever read. I would also like to know more about Fynn. Thanks

Hello, stg,
If you do a search on 'Anna Fynn', you will find several sites listed where you can purchase all three of the books. I've just ordered copies myself of the two sequels.

A niece of mine presented "Mr.God, This is Anna" to my children a decade ago. This is one of the most beutifully written books (this includes those not only about God) that I have ever read. I have been trying to get some info on Fynn. Any chances?

RaamayaNa is a great book by a lesser known author. Nobody knows much about the life and times of Valmiki, especially which publisher he approched to publish his work for the first time etc.
