M. JAYACHANDRAN ["Innale ente.."(Balettan), he did good "Manikkuile.."(Valkannadi) cobaines three RAGASi mean RAGAMALIKA. He got lot new projects..
SHARATH [Unfortunately "Ksanakathu and Pavithram" are noticed, he did woderful job all the works especially in "sindura Rehka" movie was flop, If Mohanlal acted in that movie should be hit anyway.. He din't get that much chances..
M.JAYACHANDRAN and SHARATH they both well trained in CARNATIC music, Of course all the music directors trained in classical otherwise how can be good M.D.? Anyway..
ALPHONES ["Vellithira" and "Jalolsavam" especially the song "Kera nirakaladum--singer-Jayachandran, it's so nice Because of the Raga "SARASWATI" i din't listen any film song in that Particular in SARASWATHI RAGAM, So...

To Vipil, Part 2
I will give you a good example from the song "Ithile Nee" JUst after Kartik sings "Ithile Nee", you could hear that twisted electronic sounds which fill up that gap...or take "Junile Nilamazhyil", after when KJY repeats, Mazhayil....Mazhayil....." after each word, you can see the continous (blended) keyboard note filling up that vacuum. Now those things are examples of good, professional & wholistic orchestration. In Chronic bachelor, the rhythm is really good, the sound quality is good, and thats it. It will not, in my mind, qualify as an example of a well orchestrated piece....
cheers

musicman... wat u reffering to all r good points... and i neva deny any of dese facts..! bcoz... every music director has dere own approach to composing songs in a different style! alphonse as by far has impressed many ppl .. and got offers instantly...! i would say he has variety in his music ... as he chose movies accordingly...! DD as by far has appealed to my ears.. and i really dunno how to explain it..in musical terms.. ! but ..i am waiting for his latest release..! it will b somthin diff ! i am sure of dat! as i told u b4..alphonse is senior to DD... but he can also be sophisticated .. with his music in years to come! very true... he sounded da same for both his movies... jus bcoz of da fact dat .. he was told to do ..da same thin for da movie symphony.! and unlike alphonse... DD is doin a telugu movie now and den a tamil movie soon! telugu movie music release in nov! i am sure he will catch up from dere!

hi guys,
i never meant to create any confusion.
i think in a few days of assylum, theres been quite some opinion.
i feel- we should give both these guys some time before we decide who's the best-
and though i dont have such carnatic and classicals ear as musicman does, ...i only go by the "listen and feel".attitude.
if rehman feels i'm deepak- i just wish i was-
anyways- i'm sure our discussion will become clear in a few years time-,..both these guys have a lot to give us.......either ways- malayalam music wins!!

i would agree wid mark too... dere was confusion around... ! ppl everyone has deir own approach of makin music...and wat explanations musicman gave us..was fairly into da musical context..which a layman wouldnt understand much! but yea..a music craze ppl..who take few things into account can...but not as complicated stuff as musicman explained...! if we knew bout all dose things..we could also make certain points clear!
so den anyways... dere is no such comparisons... as mark said... malayalam music is a winner!
we can look ahead and expect for som amazing music in future for sure!

Hey Guys:
I realize that I did include technical details. Never meant to until Mark started the topic on Rhythm Programming/Overprogramming etc.
But, I also talked about a simple concept called "Range" or "Versatility". That is, the skill to do a pure classical or village type folk number and also do a pure western number. I just said I havent heard that "yet" from DD. Not that he can't do it, but as of now, I haven't seen it! I also like his compositions better than the other MDs of today, so I am also eagerly waiting to hear "Udayanaanu...". I am also a person rooting (cheering madly) for Mallu Music. In fact, I will be only happy if DD also demonstrates that completeness & range. To repeat, I will be ONLY happy. In the long run, I dont care who wins, DD, Alphons or any other MD...But am a bit sad seeing some MDs with no sense of the music (not DD) reap success & attention when the more substantive ones are not!!!

I AM EAGERLY WAITING FOR DEEPAK DEV' S NEW MOHANLAL FILM (UT).
I LOVE HIS OCHRESTRATION AND SOUND QUALITY! I THINK SYMPHONY SONGS WERE BETTER THAN CHRONIC BACHELOR. FOUND SIMILAR TUNES. HOPE NOTHING OF THAT SORT IS SHOWN IN UT.
