WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM? I THINK HE WAS VERY TALENTED. HE WOULD'VE MADE A GREAT SUPERSTAR FOR MALAYALAM. IF ANYONE KNOWZ, THEN LET ME KNOW.

  Actor Rahman is the Co-brother of Musician A.R.Rahman ( i.e both married sisters) and their father-in-law is a filthy rich diamond merchant in triplicane, Madras.
  Indeed he was a good actor - Performed Excellently in Koodevide, Sunil Vayasu 20, Eeran Sandhya, Poomugappadiyil Nineyum Kaathu....
  
  In Tamil wlso he did some nice films: Pudhu Pudhu Arthangal, Puriyadha Pudhir, Nilave Malare,....

  It is indeed true that ARR was previously Dileep Kumar. He dwelled in poverty nad his family had real hardships after their dad went away. At that time a muslim helped him and his family and that's why he converted to Islam. Also, he hails from a small village in Kerala - a born malayali.

  if he has not good in acting how he got the best actor in a supporting role award for his first film(Koodevide).You must remember that even dileep is yet to get a state award(excluding so called special jury award).I think jayaram also has not got state award for best actor or supporting actor.
  How can one forget his dance with shobhana in the
  superduper 'kanamrayath'.I agree he was typed because of his age and looks,but that never means

  Its sad that we don't have enough information on Rahman who really thrilled the whole Kerala in 80s along with Mammootty. He had his moments though. Its a fact that tody's audience of Kerala does not want to see an actor with such a class- look actor they preffer to see fat heros in heavy musthache and wet lips on their lemon-round doll face. But these audience does not realise that their heros never be able to break the boders since they don't have a conventional good look like Mammootty and Rahman had.

  RAHMAN started his career with KOODEVIDE.He won
  state award for best acter in supporting role.He
  then done a series of lover rolls.Another great roll was in KANAMARAYATH in this film there is a
  dance sequence with our SHOBANA.SOng is 'oru madurakkinavin lahariyiletho' that was really superb .I did n't see a better dance than that.
  He also done some good rolls.The major films are
