Did you know:

1: Marathi Bramhins denied to crown Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. For them Shivaji was a Shudra and Shudra has no right to become a Chhatrapati according to the great Hindu religion. Shivaji then invited a North Indian Bramhin Gaga Bhatta for coronation. Gagabhatta took bribe of 1 lakh gold coins to coronate Shivaji.

2: Ramdaas was a spy of Aurangzeb. Today the Marathi Bramhins say that Raamdas was Guru of Chhatrapati Shivaji but the fact is that Shivaji and Ramdaas never met.

3: The Peshwa Bramhins tortured millions of Dalits. The British army destroyed Peshwa rule with help of Mahars (A Dalit Castes) and soldiers of Madras Regiment. Just 800 soldiers of British defeated 30000 Peshwa soldiers. (You can imagine the much discussed gallantry of Peshwas)

4: Tukaram, the great anti-vedic Saint of Maharashtra was killed by a Bramhin Mambaji

5: Chakradhar Swami, another saint of the Bhakti Movement was killed by a Marathi Bramin

6: Kalusha Kabji, a Bramhin helped Aurangzeb to capture Sambhaji, the son of Shivaji

7: Bramhins tried to kill Mahatma Phule, the great social reformer and educationalist

8: The so Called ‘Lokmanya’ Baal Gangadhar Tilak (a Bramhins) never wanted that the non Bramhins should learn and take part in politics.

9: Nathuram Godse, again a Bramhin killed Mahtma Gandhi

  I agree,
  A few marati Bramins are a little "out there," They are willing to go to any extent to maintain their caste pride. But that's only a few!! Majourity of the Maratha Bramins admire the great king. And Shivaji is also admired by the majourity of the Bramin Community in India over all. So, don't generalize about all Marati Bramins, looking at what a few say.

  It's all fake about Brahmins. It seems the bunch of sentences without much study. "Eklavya" also never met his Guru. Why Shivaji & Ramdaas should have met? Ramdaas has done a greate job of giving new life to all Maratha people by showing a way to "Balopasana", "Surya-namaskar" etc. It was complementary job in Searajya Sthapana by Chatrapati Shivaji.

  Actually the problem with whole tamil culture. The discussion is all surrounding brahmins-non brahmins, aryans, dravids, hinduism , vedas, thirukural, anti-hindi, white, black.
  Actually Tamils are inferior in all the subjects, they have no history, no culture, no good langauge so all these trouble, and so is this forum. Tamil is basically a rogue community, that is the reason they keep on fighting among themselves, with neighbours like srilanka,karnataka, kerala, with country like india. with white skinned people, with brahmins etc etc.

  by philosphy all people are good. infact a thief or a murderer will have some good characters/aspects in him
  if u want to hate u can hate anyone and everyone.
  if hatred is ur way of life then ur one poor guyin the world who dont know to interact with people
  learn to admire all people in the world europeans, chinese africans, malenesians, persians, eskimos, american tribes, mauris, australoids, the list goes on.

  Shivaji was a great king we all maharashtrians respect him a lot and all brahmins too.

  I feel the wholw article is based on inadequate knowledge about our history. The two glaring examples are that Ramdas was Aurangzeb's spy and gallantry of Peshwas.
  The explaination is that Sambhaji ( Shiwaji's son) was also guided by Ramdas.
  And after Shiwaji's death in 1680 Peshwas reigned till 1818 when british took over from Bajirao the second.
  The gallantry of Bajirao the first , his brother Chimajiappa , Sadashivraobhau ( who conqured terrains till Atak), Bapu Gokhale , Trimbakji Dengle etc are conveniently overlooked.
