I am sorry for those people who say that the people who did not like alavanthan are stupid and like tamil formula films... I call these people Kamal Hassan Sheeps who will like and say everything with kamal hassan is great..

I admire kamal's acting and I like most of his movies.(I even liked PKS). However, I will never say that he rules or he is the best..I am not a sheep and my head is not stuck up his a$$ like some Kamal fans..

There are way too many flaws in that movie that cannot be saved by the technicality of the film done by some Australian company.. Right from the begining I may add.

Kamal claimed that he did one month training with Indian commandos to make the film more realistic..

That is a complete BS. For example

1) There is a scene in that movie inside the hut with the terrorist and the hostages. U see the terrosrist talking to the hostages and there is a large open window. Through the window, u can see kamal and his commandres running towards the house taking cover from time to time..But what if the terrorist looked out of the window and saw the rescuers..they will start shooting the hostages..
No commandoes will pull a stunt like that..

Now this is such a minor flaw in the film compared to the bigger holes in the plot and script..

Just the hostage rescue segment itself have many flaws but it can be ignored if u consider this as any other Tamil/Hindi films with over the top and unrealistic action scenes. Only reason i am picking on this is because Kamal was bragging about the 'realism of action' and his training with the Indian Commandos in the media. Otherwise i would have ignored it.

I am not even getting into the "jumping onto the ballon" scene and the very weak script.

I am just highlighting particular scenes in the begining of the movie just to show that Alavantan critics are not stupid but it is kamal's ego and his tendency to hype up the movie that is the problem..

I hardly agree with the Hindi media but i have to agree with them this time..Kamal makes a movie with every shot for him; to show off his trade and not give any other people in the movie a chance to shine. Alavanthan is a one-man show.

Look..If u really and truley liked Alavanthan it is fine..people have different taste..but if u critize people who critized Alavanthan unreasonably,,then I do have to say something..bye for now

  But he has been given Bhamabhoosan by Govt.of India? (Do they deserve for these kind of awards is another kind of discussion). So its more logical to use Padmabhooshan or Padmashree than using self-crowned (or kakai pudikum Producers given) titles.

  Kamal using Padmashree to his own produced films is a news to me. But I remember in Thenali or in one of the recent release he has been given the title Ulaganayagan.. in the title-card. As we know the (hero)actors have greatest influence in the film they are acting, I don't think 'Ulaganayakan' or any other crap titles are shown without Kamal knowledge and acceptance.

  Kamal is not saint..Your arguement is correct.Pls note the word 'atleast' in my previous posting..I don't want to argue like kamal actually requested his producers not to put those titles,but they denied..My point is he atleast don't use such titles in his own movies..that is it.

  I don't intend to say that you are lying. I don't even know which film is his own production and which is not. I'm just saying that he is responsible for the crap titles given in non-own-produced films as well.

  'ulaga nayagan' is a meaningless title given by K.s.ravi kumar.In my opinion the only title seems to be accepted without second thought is 'Nadigar Thilagam' sivaji Ganesan.

  Hey superstar title to Rajini was given by AVM in "paayum puli", not by ppl. ha ha ha that was a good joke ppl gave rajini the title.
  
  Joe was right Kamal never used any other title other than Padhmasree in his own productions. Thenali was not his own production. LLDasu don't comment rubbishly without knowing anything.
  
  Maybe Rajini was ashamed to use Padhmabhushan bcos for what reason he got that award? Even Kamal hasn't been awarded that award. Then how come Rajni got that?
