After reading the review, i feel sad for Vijay.
Review from sify.com

Vijay’s sob love story continues with Youth. The one-line story is that Vijay falls in love with a poor little rich girl. It is a one sided love till the climax, when everything falls in place for the hero to marry the girl. To call the venture a disaster would be an understatement. There is no basic storyline or a coherent plot in the film. Vijay preaches to the youth of today that if a girl is friendly with a boy she has to have love in her heart, nothing less than that.
Shiva (Vijay) is a villager who has a degree in Home Science and has also done a catering ourse which make him a Samayalkaran (cook). Shiva’s cousin (Sindhu Menon) runs away from home on her wedding day with him, as he is a cook! The hero then goes to the town in search of a job. He stays with his unemployed friends (Vivek & Co) in a huge bungalow that even has a swimming pool! While hunting for a job, Shiva saves an American returned Sandhya (Sandhya) from a group of thugs. The country bumpkin mistakes her good intentions of thanking him for saving her as ‘love’! The ‘cook’ finally tells the heroine about his love on her engagement day with a guy, who is after her wealth. But in the climax she is convinced about the hero's love for her and marries him.
The film is a heartless love story, which is far from entertaining. And post interval, despite interesting moments, the audience fall into deep slumber. Throughout the film the audience cannot empathise either with Vijay’s obsessive love or Sandhya’s ‘good friend’ attitude. Sandhya’s shrill debut is hardly the stuff that could make a newcomer proud. Vivek& Co, can you please stop repeating those sleep inducing comedy track in film after film? Don’t look for any solace from Mani Sharma’s music either, as all the tracks are repetitive. Vincent Selva’s inept direction and lacklustre performance from the lead cast make Youth a flick that one would recommend only to sworn enemies.
Verdict: Damp squib

Review of the movie Sri
source: sify.com

The 'rowdy' genre, which seems to be hot among film makers and actors now is once again tested here by director Pushpagavasan. However, he seems to have been influenced by films of the same genre like the Mohanlal classic Kireedam and the recent Tamizh. The only saving grace of the film is the steel strong performance of Surya as Sri, the ‘dada’ with a golden heart.
Sri (Surya) is an angry young man who takes law into his hands (seen this hundred times at least!). Along with his gang he fights against all injustices around and helps anyone who is in need of muscle power. Even the police admire him (?) as he takes care of their duties. When a school built with spurious materials collapses, injuring many young children, Sri interferes and bashes up the contractor (Riaz Khan) and makes him give compensation to the parents! Similarly when a young guy (Sreeman) is denied a job in the employment exchange Sri beats up the officer and forces him to give him a job! These are the instances shown to establish that Sri is a do-gooder and the people adore him. But there is one man who is out to nail Sri and he happens to be his father Sankara Iyer (Vijaykumar) who runs from Police station to the Collector requesting them to arrest the history sheater! But like all ‘dada kathai’ Sri too was an innocent guy who was forced to take law into his hands, which is told in a flashback. This part of the story is totally unbelievable and tedious. The courtroom climax is too lengthy and boring.
Surya as Sri has come out with yet another excellent performance after Nanda. His body language and expressive eyes prove once again that he is a complete hero. The debutant heroine Sruthika (as Sri’s lover) has no screen presence and has still miles to go. And for God’s sake, does Gayathri Jayaram have to be a part of the cast? Newcomer T.S.Murali’s music is very average.
For those who are still thirsting for more ‘dada’ stories go ahead and watch the film at your own risk.
Verdict: Below Average

I think there is a very poor soul who is writing reviews at Sify.com. Every film review I ever read at sify.com always has been negative. Putting the films down so badly but the film will turn out to be a hit.
That's happened to all the vijay movies in the past four or five years they all turned out to be hits. If youth doesn't reach atleast 75 days I'll shave my head. They made it sound like it wouldn't reach 25 days.

The messege of the film is, don’t lose heart if your girl says she doesn’t love you. Keep at it. Director vincent selva has created a story which has nothing new to offer. Vijay and Sandhya are like loose ends in a drab movie. Except for Vivek's comedy the film is a total washout. One more attempt by Kollywood to show women as brainless and guys as idiots. Simran in a song sizzles. Wish she were the heroine of the film instead of the mannequin Sandhya. Music and camerawork has nothing new to offer.
Story Line
Vijay is ditched by his wife-to-be on his wedding day. He is not at all upset by this event. He goes along with his cousin Shyam Ganesh to the city to seek a job as a chef, since he is a catering graduate. He plays knight in shining armour to Sandhya when she is in trouble. She is the daughter of rich man Manivannan. More meetings and more interactions later Vijay is in love with her. At Sandhya’s birthday party the announcement that Yugendran is going to marry her shocks Vijay. Still he goes ahead and tells her that he loves her. This shocks her. Vijay reasons out with her that their various interactions led him to believe that she is in love with him as well. Does he get the girl?

Webulagam give Thumbs down as well. They start off the review by asking if both units of 'youth' and 'Ee nee romba azhaga irrukE' got together to discuss their stories. Seems both films have a lot in common.

Mr. Sha,
I think you have made some analytic mistakes. What webulagam said as soon as the article began was that the unit of both films must have gotten together to discuss the stories because both are very similar. They finished the article saying that even a song with Simran won't change the fate of the film. My opinions are neutral to the core. I have no desire to put anyone down. A bad film is a bad film, to the average cine goer who is intelligent enough to evade from being subjected to fanaticism.
