Can anyone help me out? I'm trying to find a copy of "Muthu" aka "The Dancing Maharaja" on VHS or Region 2 DVD with either English or Japanese subtitles or dub. Does anyone know any reliable online stores I could buy this from?

Dude, I saw the Japanese version first, and now I just bought the orginal... really different.. The Japanese version, is much improved in terms of editing unnecessary scenes, (and at times re-adding scenes that were taken out in the original), the sound quality of the songs, and the subtitles. The english subtitles are incoherent and hard to follow, and the songs are even translated. The Japanese version is much better. The songs are translated, and the dialogue is clear and more comprehesible. If you can read Japanese, I would recommend getting on Japanese Yahoo! Auctions, or on Japanese Amazon or something... The english version is cheaper of course but, i think the japanese one is worth the money

I have to agree with Greg.
I've been looking for "Muthu" with English subtitles. I finally found it. However, I've found that it's different from the one I saw in Japan.
This DVD by Eros has been dubbed and presented in Hindi instead of the original Tamil. The Tamil version is my clearer and the singing is richer. This Hindi dub comes a poor second to the original Tamil.
Is there a Tamil version with English subtitles?
