Maybe from VIVEK, KOUNDAMANI, SENTHIL, WAYAPOOORY, CHAARLIE OR JANAGARAJ.....OR whoever

things like "SUKRIYA"
name the film each dialogue originated from

  Honestly, i don't think there is much 'intelligent humour' in Tamil or for that matter, any indian language movie. We all have been conditioned like 'Pavlovian Dogs' to laugh, when someone hits another. No wonder, Sendhil and Goundamani are Comedy Legends in Tamil Cinema History. However, i have to mention, i liked the 'Dhamu, Vaiyapuri, Charlie' scenes of 'Parthen Rasithen'.

  What do you mean by "Intelligent Humour"? I accept that of late in Tamil or any other Indian Movies, comedy scenes quality is going down.But please watch the good old movies in which NS.Krishnan-TA.Mathuram/KA.Thangavelu-Saroja/
  "Muliangannan"Ramachandran/ChandraBabu/Cho/Nagesh/TSBalaia/SVRangarao acted in comedy scenes and tell me the quality of the comic scenes.
  
  Recent days movies, Vivek is doing a good job.
  This charlie/Thamu/Vaiyapuri comedy is useless in my opinion. Kaundamani/Semthil comedy is like Laurel-Hardy's one. More abusive words are used.

  Yes phantom, MMKR was one hilarious movie. The humour in that movie still makes me laugh!

  Saami comedy in tamil movie had strong culture of thinking base.Remember the times of NSK,Thangavelu (for meaningful),CHandrababu,nagesh(for timing)

  I don't know what Supriya wants when she says "Intelligent humour". I would rate Tamil comedies the best among all Indian movies. I don't listen to much of western comedies but I didn't enjoy any in whatever I've heard or seen. Hitting each other and laughing was only with Senthil and Goundamani... Even with them, we can see good quality, like Senthil's doubts in Chinna Gounder. Vivek has come up very good in passing messages in comedy. He doesn't say there is no God. He just says some practices don't have meaning.
  
  I would always rate Tamil comedies the best and we can be proud to see Tamil movie industry giving more focus to comedies!

  This is in defence of Koundamani the greatest of 'em all. Whenever an argument turns up , people get all dicey and morally upright( uptight!) and dismiss him as phlistine.Worse they dismiss him on the grounds that he has no "message".
  My God , as if comedy were a sin that might be pardoned if were made 'useful' by conveying messages.Comedy is serious business and creating laughs is itself a great social responsibility that is thrust on the artist, and if success were measured in this yardstick Gounder beats evrybody clean.
  Let me put this straight : I've thorouhly enjoyed vivek.His form in Kannedhire Thondrinaal','Vaali','Aasayil Or Kaditham' etc. was great , but look what social mesaging has done to him : he is unbearable in 'Saami'and 'Kaadhal Sadugudu' etc.It is sad how pretentiousness has ruined a good comedian by limiting his scope.
  Let me counter the argument that Gounder is inconsistent too (i.e 'Ulathai Alliththaa' is one extrme but his Sharmili-series was the other extreme), but atleast he is not pretentious enuf to go about dispening messages)
  And for those who insist on 'good-clean-fun' ,well, they themselves provide me enough laughs.
  With all due respect to NSK , Nagesh was better.Inconsistent, yes ,but better.
  I pity all those who dismiss Gounds writing in a style that befits 'letters-to-the -editor'.I wish they'd come out of all that some day and enjoy Goundamani's remark at Crazy Mohan in Indian : "Vaadi Paarthsaardhi!, Edho Indhule Ezhudharen, Sandhula Ezhudharennu Sonne ?"
  Otherwise in the higher echelons of Tamil Cinema fora there shall always be a "delget poshshun"( Gounds' trademark mispronunciation of delicate position in Soriyan).Throwing at each other a cynical "Good Marning Aabisar" .Or perhaps we may coexist saying "Cinemavula idhellam sagajamappa".

  What messege u guys want? R we learning something thru these messeges. My point is that as long as there is no vulgarity in dialogue delivered & if these comedy scenes can make us forget our sorrows, & comedies which can be watched with family & make us laugh, is good comedy.
  Naama comedians messege solliya thiruntha porom? We r educated we know what is right & wrong.
