The next great actor after Sivaji and Kamal-Is it Ajith? Is it Wijay? Is it [I can't help but laugh when I hear people saying these two names for great actors]Madhavan or Shyamm? In the rush to find that elusive figure tamil movie fans seem to have made good looks as the criteria for next great actor, not great acting. And unfortunetly they seem to have forgotten a guy who played a character named 'Sethu'two years ago: Yes, I'm talking of Vikram. The guy is just fantastic, soft spoken and humble-Geat qualities to go with the acting. In his latest movie-Kasi-Vikram plays a blind young man who has the gift of an extraordinary singing voice. Anyone who saw the film might have been wondering if they were looking at another Kamal Hassan [not Sivaji. I doubt if even Kamal can touch Sivaji].
The training he recieved for the movie is indeed an indication of how dedicated he his to acting-A quality that Kamal highlighted in 'Aalavandaan'.
However, Vikram's latest role comes a month after another young gun hypnotised everybody in 'Nanda'. Sooriya is another actor who will go along way.
So the debate goes on and on.......Ajith came into the reckoning with 'Citizen', Wijay has talent, but lacks taste with movies like 'badri', 'priyamanavale' and now the horribly confused piece of crap called 'Sharjahan', but I guess we just have to wait for another five to ten years to find out.......and hopefully by that time claims that Madhavan or Shyamm will be the next greatest actors will be laid to rest permnantley.

  yes,its surya & vikram all the way..i dunno about next kamal or next sivaji...'cause we can't compare anyone with them yet...but i'll take a bet right here!these guys will go a very long way...its seems all the great directors are making a beeline for their doors 'cause they find true talent in them..i heard this from a very reliable kollywood source.makes me happy..that tamil cinema can really boast of good performance after some time..& we cannot deny that they are good looking aswell.

  After unmatched Nadigar thilagam..Kamal is the only actor to be considered to compare with the Greatest Nadigar Thilagam..
  
  After Kamal,I afraid if anybody continue the relay...But after couple of stuning performances of Vikram in Sethu and Kaasi ..I can say Defenitely Vikram is the choice to continue the relay

  Vikram is going to be the one of the great actor ever produced in the tamil industries. There is no question about it. His hardwork, bringing out different looks and style in each film is obvious. NO wonder he might be the next superstar.

  Vijay need not be a Superstar!! He's a top actor and a very popular actor in TN.. that's enough.. fighting for the superstar place is a waste! Rajini earned it from fans and still is the only superstar of the industry! no one else!

  The trend goes this way - those days we did not have many actors so Sivaji and M.G.R lasted and dominated long. Now we have actors streaming in, in a generation gap of 10 years. It was Rajnikanth and Kamal. Then Vijay and Ajith and now maybe Danush and Simbhu. But the ones who have marked a niche was Sivaji, Kamal, and now the untouchables, the ones that can do any role with anyone, devoted in acting, no ego are Vikram and Sooriya. You can see their actings in Sethu, Nanda, Kakka Kakka, Kasi, and now both so well blended in 'Pitha Magan'. Congrats to both of you, to my knowledge of what most of us think you two are simply superb. Keep up the good work
