Hai Kamal fans,
All will be eagerly waiting for anbe sivam.I too.there are alot of new hopes growing abt this movie, ok.I like to review kamal's last 3 films, actually saying they are flops only. they can be a hit in metro like chennai but overall they are loss only.I personally met kamal and gave a gift to him once.I like him very much, still now, but his recent activities both personal and as an actor are somewhat disliking.
Event one: - He shouted and pleaded to all magazines not to promote or write abt kamal simran gossip, but after 2weeks he started to roam with her to places.Leave sarika, leave simran and also vani kamal.think of his daughters position. They are also girls, who will come to marry them?????????Or what example he is setting to his daughters.Kamal can divorce sarika but he cannot roam with simran and say this is only friendship.(Really it cannot be)
Event 2: Panchu arunachalam, the early promoter of kamal told that alavanthan cant be done by another actor, but some changes should have be done in that. Also he told, a clever person (kamal, in this place) should not fail.Overall he, only praised kamal but kamal got angry in that and replied hot in Kungumam. This shows his ego and nothing other than that.
Event 3: Afterall, most of the middle and average people, who saw Panchaathanthiram couldnt understand the movie at all.Lot of english dialouges, and all magazines also praised only crazy mohan. Is this a way an excellent, intelligent actor/director do?Then he is saying in malasya, that no one knows wether their films will run or not.How will it run if u always speak too technically in english?
Same problem in aalavanthan, many english dialogues.avvaishanmugi and thenaali are the only recent films which did well in all centres, all others are a flop.Heyraam ran for just 6 days in my native. He could have told the same story little bit with some entertainment.
Above all, the theme of heyraam is very excellent, no indian director had though in that way.
Heroes acting with him in his films praise kamal like anything.Just see what he does to his second heroes, arjun's role wasnt big in kuruthippunal, in kaathala kaathala, prabudeva was made dummy, no need to tell abt shah rukh khan in heyram and abbas in PKS.now maddy in anbe sivam>I bet madhavan has no duet with kiran at all.Kamal is a painter cum folk player in the film, and the only 2 duet songs in casette shows that the male singer is a painter, and it could be no one other than kamal.I bet Rs.500( my mail id is kalpkart_@hotmail.com)
He is a verrrry hard worker, his films has a good and intelligent screenplay. He is the most knowledged person of Indian cinima, both technically, and cinimatically. Then why he couldnt be appricieated by masses.
He can shave his head, change his face, build his body gaigantically, sit in icebox for 5 hours makeup, act with a rat in thenali, all these are news, and they can be very intresting and exciting but these cant make a movie run.
Just study the interview by kalaipuli thaanu abt kamal's wastages of crores in aalavanthan.Thaanu is telling that he still dont know why he consumed such a big amount.Even hayraam had a high budget but what did u see?Afterall, wasting money for a small piece of thing which is going to come few nanoseconds on the extreme corner of the screen,is not right.Whoever's money can be it.And kamal gives this a name called perfection.Aalavanthaan didnt showed so rich but he wasted crores.paalayathamman, a local ramanaraayanan film's graphichs is more colorful than aalavanthans graphics, and many people couldnt find where the graphics are, at all, in aalavanthaan and heyraam.?!?!?!.Whatever one can do, it should be understandable to all, not only by the brainy persons who are reading this mail.afterall we all cannot make a kamal movie a hit.
First tell him to speak in tamil and speak clearly in his films.

Regarding Aalavandhaan what Kamal said was right. Being a professional Kamal only accepted half of his salary for Aalavandhaan and the remaining half was given to the financier for releasing the movie in Hindi. Remember Abhay (Aalavandhaan's Hindi version did not release in the north but got released only in North east and north west).

Vijay,
Firstly, I noticed that your first point was on Kamal's personal life. What has cinema got to do with his personal life? What does his acting talents, his movie productions and direction got to do with who he is with? The biggest problem with indian movie fans is that we seem to judge (very wrongfully) an actor's talents on his personal life.
Let's apply this trend to every day life of normal people. For example, you have a dhosai shop that sells the best dhosai. People flock to your shop, because it's their money's worth and it's delicious. Then, you have a domestic problem and you seperate from your wife. People get to know about this through rumour and they decide not to patronise your shop anymore; all because of your personal and private life, which has nothing to do with your great tasting dhosai, and definitaly non of your customer's business. The same with actors; their personal lives have nothing to do with us appreciating their talents and movies.
The same with his 'ego'. Suddenly fans are very concerned with actors' pride, ego etc.
As far as language is concerned; I prefer mixed dialogues because they are more realistic. In Hey Ram, several languages were used (Tamil, Hindi, English, Bengali, Marathi, Sanskrit, etc).
This is more realistic than foreign people/non Tamils speaking in Tamil :"Yenekku Tamil konjum konjum theriyum..."
In Aalavandhaan, for example, the first sequence would have been ridiculous if everyone, including the terrorist and the western captives, spoke in Tamil, with Kamal giving instructions in Tamil! One thing all tamil filmakers can improve on is the addition of subtitles when non-tamil dialogue is being spoken.
Kamal is also one of the very few big name actors who are willing to share the limelight with other leading, or up and coming actors. Pancathanthiram was a good example. He also brings out the best in actors. In Hey Ram, Sharukh's performance was exceptional. I usually can't stand Abbas; but after his performance in Hey Ram, I am convinced that Abbas has acting talents. To me, singing duets does not mean anything;acting talent is. I would prefer a short but powerful performance, rather than a long and bland performance. In Hey Ram, Deli Ganesh's role was short, but it had a great impact. He played the part very convincingly. Unfortuntely, Ganesh's role in Baba could have been better. He was quite under-used. I think this is mainly the director's fault (not Rajini's) in under- utilising Deli ganesh's talents.
As for graphic and special effects, the best ones are un-detected. The use of graphics, spfx is to make something look real. If you can detect a scene using graphics and fx, then it is not well done; unless it is the intention of the director to make it obvious. An example is the bizzarre cartoon fight scene in Aalavanthaan. The tornado scene in Hey Ram is another example, as with the scene when Ram chooses his weapon to kill Gandhi (and shoots at an imaginary Gandhi)

Really? Even in scenes when Tamil is not required???
If you think he can't speak Tamil properly, watch 'Mahanathi'.

I think there's a perception that Kamal's interviews and speeches are hard to understand. Kamal tends to use the kind of Tamil that Tamil-Kavignargal (like Vairamuthu) use. To the average person (self included) this seems a bit different and is not clear at times. Not that it is always hard to understand "Sutha" Tamil. Karunanidhi's speeches and writings are easily understood by most.
Most heroes speak the same kind of Tamil irrespective of the role they play. Kamal on the other hand will speak Cheri-Tamil (PammalKS), English-mixed-Tamil (Panchatanthiram) or other based on the character he plays. The average audience expects the hero to do certain things irrespective of his role. Even if he is poor, they expect him to dress well, have money to help the poor. Likewise, many prefer that the hero uses language that they can easily understand even if he is talking to a foreigner.
Wondering if this is what Vijay alludes to in his statement.

hello vijay,
kamal is my favourite artise
so i don't care abt his personal life
abt his ego, i think his ego have made him what he is today so i think his ego has has hleped him more than it has hurt him
abt not giving his co stars better chances,
look at nagesh(in nammvar),nasr(in kuruthipunal) n deli ganesh(in aavishunmugi)
as 4 graphics what kumar has said is very true
as a tamilan i appreciate kamal for talking in sutha tamil, if a tamilan does n0t understand sutha tamil the least he could do is not to discourage those who speak good tamil
i would like a movie to surprise, thrill, amaze me or make my knowledge broder but not feed my expections
but some people like their predicitons to be always right as 4 them "actor" vijay's movies r the best
last but not least i m not saying kamal is the best of best or things like that
i like him coz he tries to be different compared to other actors n for that i appreciate him
