Is it the end of the Kamalahasan-Rajinikant era??
well i think its nearing its end. Gone are the days of Indian and Avai Shanmughi Blockbusters and Rajini hardly act any movies of which is recent BaBa did not do well at the Box-Office.

Kamal and Rajini face extremely siff competition from Vikram,Vijay,Ajit,Danush,Suria,Simbu and Other new comers. Vijaykant still hanging others like Prabu,Karthik,Arjun and Satiyaraj are gone.i Doubt they'll ever give a hit movie.

It started from mid 1970's till early 2000. Kamalhaasan only competition at the box-Office was Rajinikant. Late 1998's and 1999 came Vijay and Ajit which very fast transformed to many other younger heros coming to the throne.
The yonger generation in their teens May not prefer Kamal and Rajini but more into Vijay,Ajit,Vikram and others.I belief this is the major cause for the now declining Rajini-Kamal era.

  MACHI! Go and watch Virumaandi before commenting anything on Kamalhaasan. Well, i am a fan of Rajinikanth too. But its preferable if he does roles like Vijaykanth's in Ramana or Parthiban in House Full, per my taste. It will be suitable and respectable character for the Superstar. But Kamalhaasan, he looks terrific for his age. He still suits to be a hero. No matter who comes on his way, he will always remain as SUPERHERO.
  Talking about the new generation, yeah, i accept VIKRAM and SURYA are creating history and they highly have a chance on becoming the next two pillars after Rajini and Kamal. They are capable and have the ability for that. But Ajith? Well he had a good impact when entering but now? And Vijay? Only knows how to copy superstar and to jump here and there. Danush? Oh my GOD! it is totally out of the world comparing him with Rajini and Kamal. He still has a longer or even longest way to go.
  So please do not think that its the end of RAJINI-KAMAL era..
  Im sure they are able to substain their respect forever.

  coz I feel Vijay,Ajith and Vikram slowly started getting more fans than him
  but ofcourse, Kamal has his own chain of fans who really admire and even now he has many fans..
  and Rajini no way still hez the number one.
  coz rajini's masses are still intact with him and Vijay,Ajith and Vikram havent overtaken

  Yes Shanti. 'Virumandi' is a clear winner. Thanks to Krishnaswami. He made sure that the movie got its publicity even before its release without Kamal Hassan having to spend too much money. The movie was talked about even abroad. Whatever it is, Kamal Hassan is back at the top. The place he, very much, deserves.

  Even I was surprised. I saw it with my own eyes when I went to Sathyam theatre to watch the movie. Scores of Hyundai company workers had come there along with their families to watch the movie. It is terrific that the Kamal Hassan has such a good following.
  
  Look at the 'Virumandi' factor. How far it has grown. Finally, you also started giving news. Do you have anything else up your sleeve?

  To sa. Till today Kamal has the 2nd Biggest Fan following in the world After Rajini. But Vikram and company are catching up on both Kamal and Rajini.

  Who said, this is end of their Era? May be for Rajini becoz of his personal, religious acts other than movie acts...but still this guy in and around...may be he's finishing his own era..
  
  But 4 virumandi...NO WAY! see his fit in V'mandi..well say, he'll be here still more years...along with V'Kanth...
  
  The newcomera are like 'Snow Showers'....nobody staying for a long time...

  No comparisions, All these young stars are growing under the shadows & inspiratons of Rajini,Kamal & many other senior actors,directors & many other people. According to this modern trend, young heros are attracted & no doubt they have tremendous talent but it is not fare to compare with the seniors. That too at any point of time it is not fare to compare an actor with another actor. Everybody has their own talent. Rajini & Kamal may not do the films, but they have done enough films. This is response only to the second para you have specified. Of course now a days teens, childrens all prefer Vijay Vikram, Maddy, & many other but Rajini & Kamal will stay for ever in their minds.
