Imitation to some extent can be enjoyed. Where is originality, creativity , a style for himself ? Think of original comedies by Nagesh, senthil-gowndamani . vivek is un comparable with them.

sense of humour on any topic
nakkals
sarcastic remarks about moda nambikais
indianising western culture
imitating others voice
jokes on current affairs
critsing chitti and chittappa ( kodieswaran)
he is comparable to all current heros of kollywood.

Dont ask why he is criticizing traditions and customs. First, does he has a right or not to criticize. Second whether there is merit in his criticism.
Everyone has got a right to criticize and since customs & traditions are not the property of anyone no one can object to the criticisim even if it is in bad taste. When every comedian from surli rajan can get away with double etendere and obscene dialogues I think vivek is an angel when compared to those chaps. Of course I prefer nagesh and thangavelu for their comedy which is devoid of rancour and vulgarity

Vivek has said a few times that he is not against Hinduism, and that he is only against malpractices followed in the name of religion, which I think isn't wrong.

Yes he is doing a good job. He not only critices Mooda Nambikkai but also critices certain foolsih, meaningless and ridiculous things like TV mega serials, present day politics, politicians and even Tamil cinema.
There's no need to raise questions against his commedy, because it helps the audience enjoy and more than anything it helps them THINK.

In the movie " Poovellum Onn Vaasam", vivek will tell Kovai Sarala to do funny things when she became "Amman". Kovai Saralla will become normal.

A nice tidbit, u must all hv seen Vivek criticising "Vaastu Sastra" in almost all his films. The story in some magazine went that he has got his house altered as per Vaastu redone by co-actor Dhamu, who is some sort of expert in these stuff
