After much speculation regarding the heroine, it is Simran who has finally hit the jackpot by being cast opposite Rajini. Hunt is on for another heroine. Most probably she will be a debutante from Mumbai.
P.Vasu director of Rajini’s Chandramukhi has clarified to the rumours that Chandramukhi is the remake of Manichitrathazhu as mentioned by certain vernacular dailies. He goes on to clarify that Manichitrathazhu is a story of a possessed woman and in the original version Mohanlal appears only around the interval time but that cannot be possible in a Rajini’s movie. He further added that if he was borrowing the story of Manichitrathazhu he cannot say he has written the story.

  Mani Chitra Thaazhu is a all time classic movie.
  Perhaps one of the great movies in it's genere.
  
  Mohan Lal , Shoabana and Thilakan gave superlative performances in that movie.
  
  I really doubt if Chandramukhi cna match the original.
  
  Muthu which was remake of Lal's Thenmaavin Kumbathu was terrible. A beautiful film was remade into a horrible Rajini masala.

  May be the original should be taken over to the unbiased audience in Japan and see the Japanese's response to the original. What do you think?
  
  The fact is not many tamils watch malayaalam films, fortunately or unfortunately. Not only that Tamils do not see tamil ethics or tamil morals or the tamil culture in malayaalam movies.
  
  I personally think Keralites like Mira Nair are doing "whoring" by bringing out senseless third-rate movies like Kamasutra. This is the reason why tamils are kind of prejudiceous against Keralite's culture. It may just be their Tamils' ignorance but what truly tamils think is keralites will do anything to make money e.g. mira nair's kamasutra.

  Kerala film people are known to produce quality movies, inspite of the bad reputation created in TN for "malayalam" movies by - by Such perverts like KS Gopalakrishnan with all his "bit" movies, and shakeela's titillating stuff!
  
  Mira Nair's "salaam bombay" was a hard-hitting movie about the decadent urban monstrosity of Bombay, and the human catastrophe which is involved.
  
  Let us hope that Rajinibhai does not drop "chandramukhi" mid-way like how he did for "Jaggubhai"!!!

  srlang, u must be dreamin. Rajini is the no. ten comedian after Kaudamani, senthil, vivek, vaivellu etc. Most of his movies are comedy type. Rajini can act as simran's father or father-in-law.
