Fake Marriages conducted by Film Stars and Politicians

This is another one of those typical phenomenon that happens only in TN - Actors and Politicians competing with each other to marry off (most of them fake) couples in large numbers. The latest one by Vijayakanth is another one in the list of shameful acts when the money can be better utilized.
This article in tamilcinema.com is right on the money http://www.tamilcinema.com/cinenews2.asp?fname=Selam.htm.
I wish the mainstream tamil magazines and newspapers will pick up on this and show these idiots that they are not doing anything good to the society by these nonsensical acts.

About your question...whose fault is this? I will not blame the people of TN for this mess. It is upto intelligent politicians like PC to come out into the forefront and be in people's faces. He has to go around the places with a good band of people like him and try to reach out to different groups of people. This way he will become familiar with the people and raise his profile. But he is trying to take the easy way out by associating with a popular film start like Rajini to gain a higher profile. I am certain that the people of TN will vote for someone like PC only if he markets himself better and be seen around in good company. Instead he is running around rajinikanth with a character like purasai ranganathan (a rowdy for those who dont know him) in tow. He is out of the race even before he has begun...
The point is it is not entirely the fault of the people, it is also the fault of the so called 'clean politicians' sticking around with smelly and fishy characters.

Just being happy that somebody was not from the cine field is not enough.. Did he achieve anything is the question. LLDasu, I'm sorry to say that I used to regard you high before but after such a statement, it has come down considerably. The problem is that you are so stuck on your "Anti-cine-personality" syndrome that you forget all kinds of logic in making your counterpoints.
A ridiculours opposition to film stars presented here is that since many from film field have not been ruling effectively (that too in your opinion), so nobody else from film field will give a better rule.
But that is like a company declaring that since one or few students from, let's say Anna University were bad in software development, then all students from Anna University are poor software developers. Is that logical? Any activity becoming a success or failure depends a lot on that individual who is doing it. Pre-judjing all film stars based on previous evidence is not reasonable.
One of the reasonable oppositions to film stars may be that they can sway or mislead public opinion easily in support of themselves.
But that kind of misleading can be performed in many other circumstances too..
Consider the brute majority with which Rajiv Gandhi came to power. That was mostly due to the sympathy wave generated after the death of Indiar gandhi. Was the personal effectiveness of Rajiv or the policy direction of his expected govt. an issue at all?
So if misleading public opinion in support of themselves is the basis of condemning film stars, we have to realise that they are not alone in this. Then whatt is the point in blaming them alone?
I will present more later..

May be PC should hang around with your Universal copier who can help him master the art of having sex with girls who are half his age and teach him HOW TO COPY FOREIGN IDEAS and proclaim it is his brain child.

"Anti-cine-personality" syndrome .. Noop.. "Cine-personality-alwaysLeading-PeopleofTN-inShame' syndrome...
The syndrom of the people especially the Youth, even the educated, are going behind the Cine Stars. Then How come any decent intellectual guy dare to come to the Politics?
Rajini doesn't have the courtesy to accept the greetings or come to see his fans on his birthday... I'm not blaming Rajini for this.. He has every right to decide where to go!! I'm blaming on His fans for having 'One sided love' towards Rajini!! Why the hell they have to wait outside or Greet ... for the guy who doesn't even there to accept it!!
Forum, You have rightly asked P Chidhambaram to come out to the mass.. I agree you point!! But you will also agree that the same measure is not expected if that guy is Rajini or Kamal or Vijyakanth.. Even after Rajini's hesitant to come politics, (does he come to the masses for our daytoday life?), how many people, his fans, eagarly expect him to lead TN???

LLDasu,
Rajini always advertise in the newspaper few days before his birthday that he will not be in chennai. He is avoiding his birthday functions to save his fans' money, time, consider their well being and also the public disturbance.

Even afterthat the fans are going.. right?? Thats why I'm blaming on some section my fellow Tamils that they don't have little bit of sense. Their craziness towards the idol, block their eyes, brains and minds..

Hi SweetNothing!!
My point as same as saying to one not to choose the bride from the group of prostitutes or saying to one not to go the doctor who has leprosy. Thats it..
//But that is like a company declaring that since one or few students from, let's say Anna University were bad in software development, then all students from Anna University are poor software developers. Is that logical?//
Its not a uncommon practise by the companies ..
If a company takes students in a campus interview, if the guys are not good enuf, do u think the company would go again to that college.
(I don want to compare Anna Univ with Cine field .. because Anna Univ. is considred to be one among the best in TN but Cine field is not one among the best of the fields.. )
It happened in my earlier company that after having two or three bad experience with the guys from Hyderabad, the company had taken the stand not to consider the Hyderbadis for the Interview. I heard that the same stand has been taken by the couple of Companies as well in Singapore.

LL Dasu,
Just because it is a common practice doesn't mean it is the RIGHT thing.. By the same arguement, it has been a practice in recent times that TN CM's come from cine field. So shall we accept it..? No, but here you are, up in arms against that "practice". So, more than something being a regular practice, I'm more bothered about whether it is right or not..
I'm saying it is wrong to get into such generalisations. YOu may have reasons to keep doing it, but still it is wrong.!!

All I'm saying is that all are not prostitutes, all are not mental asylum candidates and all are not cine clowns. But you insist on it. I can't help you. So don't ruin your search because of some of your mistaken assumptions.
