  Do you mean satyajirthrey was a superhit movie director?..Even if satyajithre would have told the same,you would have said "? IF HE CANNOT DIRECT SUPERHIT MOVIES HE SHOULD KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT".
  
  Thangar pachan is one of the best directors in Tamil atleast.So he has a right to comment on social responsibility of directors.

  Thankar Bachan has been talking too much of late. "Azhagi" was a brilliant movie. "Solla Marantha Kadhai" was certainly not. Whatever be his claims to cinematic excellence, he better concentrate on his work rather than indulge in this "I-Me-Myself" routine. Good doers needn't be good talkers as well. A good example is the media-shy Maniratnam, who without proclaiming his brilliance to all and sundry, is at least making fairly watchable movies.

  Thangar Bachaan used some pointless Vivek comedy and a tappaankuthu song in his film Azhagi. He must not speak as if he did not used any amount of commercial aspects in his films.. I agree with Arjun's comment about how Maniratnam knows to speak only through his films.
