The film has almost been completed and is expected to be
released for Deepavali.
Expectations about the film are high as Madhavan has worked
with Charan, who has carved a niche for himself in the industry.
Speaking on JJ, Charan says, 'the movie is about two
characters Jegan (Madhavan) and Jamuna (debutante Amoha) and their
search for each other. While my earlier movie Gemini had a mix of
romance and action, JJ has action amidst romance.'
Charan's movies do have a strong background, around which
the entire movie would revolve. It was a mansion in Kadhal Mannan, a
MTC bus in Parthen Rasithen. In JJ, it is a FM radio station, which
has caught the imagination of the Chennaiites. Thanks to art
director Mohana Mahendra, the FM station was recreated in the
studios, he adds.
The movie has been shot at a rapid pace in Chennai, Kolkata,
Vishakapattinam and Greece.
A couple of songs have been shot in Milas Islands near
Greece and in and around a dangerous volcanic mountain Santorini.
The crew visited few places where the Oscar-winning Gladiator was
shot.
A peppy number featuring Reema Sen was shot at the busy
Vishakapatnam railway station, while a few scenes were shot in
Howrah old and new bridges and Dhakshaneshwar Temple.
Amoha, a Kolkata girl makes her debut opposite Madhavan in
the movie. ??????is playing a humourous role in JJ.
Actress Malavika, Anni plays an important
character. Noted pop singer Ceylon Manohar has donned the negative
character. Also in the cast are Dhamu, Charlie, Delhi
Ganesh, 'Thalaivasal' Vijay and Giri. The movie is produced by V
Ravichandran for Oscar Films.
Music is by Bharadwaj, cinematography by A Venkatesh,
editing by Suresh Urs and story, screenplay, dialogues and direction
by Charan.
