Tamil Cinema’s “super star” Vijay has a reason to smile. His Tirumalai is proving to be an super hit and is being appreciated by his fans more than his earlier releases like Bhagavathy and Puthiya Geethai.
The highlight of Tirumalai are Vidyasagar’s songs that are already on top of the charts. And his pairing with Jyothika once again after the superhit Kushi has proved lucky. The screening of Kushi on Diwali day on Sun TV has helped Tirumalai as the audience wanted to see that hit pair once again on big screen.

Tirumalai was not much hyped before release and producer Pushpa Kandaswamy of Kavitaalaya tactfully sold the film at very reasonable rates making it viable for the distributors. Said Sekhar, the mediator for the film: “Tirumalai is a hit as it has been made and sold at a price which guarantees minimum returns”.

  Meanwhile Vijay is busy with his next film Gilli directed by Dharani and produced by A.M.Ratnam. Trisha Krishnan is his heroine and it has music by Vidyasagar. It is a remake of the superhit Telugu film Okkadu, and remakes have worked for Vijay in the past.

  Hey the reviews for this movie r far better than for Anjaneya, and Anjaneya has already been declared as an utter flop. Thirumalai is inching towards the box office hit.

  Hey sd i read in Anandha vikatan, Priyanka Chopra(Miss world, Thamilan heroine) told to Vikatan that she didn't need to bother about not knowing tamil bcos "Vijay and most of the main artists in the film speaks good English, so i didn't need to understand tamil".   It is a very good commercial movie. Vijay this time has proved his metal. In my opinion vijay is an actor woth extreme talent and if and when given the opportunity will prove his might.
  
  And for those senseless idiots who think or believe that stardom is judged by the level of english one know, if so even a 5 yr old kid in uk will be a super star to u. First of all there's no empirical evidence to prove your claim. And even if proven, men should not be judged by their english knowledge but by their talents and humanism.
  After all our mother tongue is tamil and i will accept if u indignify any one for not knowing tamil, but english, it shows your false sense of idealistic westernized values.

  Nonsense, who claim Vijay's unable to speak English, please show your evidence then write like that. 'Paddikkattu' people ususlly spesk like that without any evidence so, we should feel sorry for them. Moreover, Vijay is a Tamilan who doesn't use English much in his films as 'Thalai's rasikkan' noted, even in his interviews-evidence his latest interview for Sun tv....Please watch it on www.tamilstate.com. I'm proud of him because he use tamil as much as possible when he speak with a tamil.

These public personalities are eagerly awaiting for our responses and do hard work just to get acceptance from the audience. Please donot use harsh words to describe them.   Saw Thirumalai in Video. The movie sukcs to say the least. the movie starts with a bike race. Oh my god! that was a big piece of shit. Vijay was looking like a buffoon riding a bike. Gosh! his dialogues in the opening scene which were totally unrelated to the movie or his role. His dialogues were very comical as well as irritatong to listen... I couldn't proceed with the movie afer half an hour or so and promptly retuned the video back to the store.
  
  Now I realized my friends adviced me not to watch this movie but inspite of their warnings I rented Thirumali out of sheer curiosity and paid the price for it!
  
  vijay looks like a clown and the movie looks like making a satire or fun of action movies!
