Here are some Malaysian Tamils/Indians who have contributed in the Tamil Cinema and other artstic field:
Tamil Movies:
1. Ravichandran - born in Malaysia and his late brother was a famous producer in the malaysian govt Tamil radio station RTM
Ravichandran became an instant hero (although not versatle actor) thru "Kathalika Neramilla", "Utharuveindre Ulle vaa","Aathe Kangal"
2. Malaysia Vsudevan - born in Malaysia and comes from a family of singers in Malaysia
3. Malaysia Mahalingam - born in Ipoh Malaysia was a dance master for Tamil movies but died in a mysterious accident in the 70s
4. Allycats - who ruled the Malaysian (Malay language) pop music in the 70s and 80s - a band with 3 Malaysian Tamil brothers. They still perform as a band but mainly in their hometown in Penang Island, Malaysia
5. DJ Dave - another leading pop singer in the Malaysian Malay field in the 70s and 80s. Father is a Sikh Temple priest in the state of Perak
6. Chendrawasih Sisters - 2 Malaysian Tamil sisters who made fame in singing Malay pop songs in the 90s
7. Datuk Seri Samy Vellu, the present Federal Minister of Works and Member of Parliament, prior to entering politics was a prominent Tamil stage drama artist and Tamil TV news reader
8. Datuk Krishnan - a pioneer in the production of Malay movies in Malaysia
9. Pansha - another leading Malaysian Malay movie producer. Also produced and the lead actor in the first Malaysian made Tamil movie (early 90s) 'Naan Oru Malayian'. Over the last 10 years have made over 20 Malaysian Tamil drams for Malaysian TV stations
10. Jack Nadarajah- a leadinproducer for the Malaysian Govt TV station RTM and won a number of awards- a regular producer for the Deepavali entertainment show over RTM TV2
There are a few more but I think others can highlight them.
