Some English movies in the Style of Tamil movies with Sentiments, Songs etc

1. FACE OFF (John Trovalata and Nicholas Cage) - Lot of Sentiments, Lot of Slow motion shots

2. The Mask (Jim Carrey) Sentiments, Magic, Songs

TAMIL movie in the Standard of English movie

1.Kamal's "KuruthiPunal".

Is this is the only Tamil movie which can be compared to a international Standard Movie ?

  1. Antha Naal - Sivaji Ganesan (which had no songs)
  
  2. As for storyline, quality (almost there) hrs (only 1.5hr) see Utcha Kattam - Sarath Babu (during 80's)

  Kamal's kuruthipunal just pretends to be in class with international cinema,the fact that the movie had no songs, won't be enough to qualify it as international class film.
  You people talking abt kamal ,oscars ,do you know anything abt international film festivals(Cannes,Toronto,Venice etc).
  The Master directors like Adoor ,Buddhadeb are making tremendous impact there,as for as Tamil industry is concerned unfortunately we have only Maniratnam doing something of that class(For your info,At Toronto international film festival,the one called as 'festival of festivals',Mani's Kannathil... was screened(Title in English:A peck on the cheek) in the prestigious 'World MASTERS ' category along with the works of Adoor (malayalam),Buddhadeb(bengali).KM got rave reviews there.
  If you are just a die-hard fan of kamal then for your info only Nayagan(this is Maniratnam film) & Heyram have made it to international arena.
  DO not go for Kuruthipunal Or Aalavandhan to talk abt world-class,lip-kisses and on screen nudity won't just make anysense.
