Actions to perform Religious Worship in Tamil are Necessary

A few months ago, preparations were made for conducting the Kudamuzhakku in Tamil itself in the temple of Tenatchiamman of the Kundrakudi Adheenam. While several people were helpful in this, a fitting explanation was given to those who raised the question, “If the incantations are sung in Tamil, will God accept that Kudamuzuku?” They doubted if the Garuda would visit; not one but two of them came. It was pleasing.

They said that the sacrificial hall would catch fire and burn if the mantras are said in Tamil. The youth of that village, who got to know about this, apprehended that anyone might set fire and lay the blame on Tamil, so they guarded it night and day. Through this it is known that the religious worship in Tamil has touched the hearts of the very last people.

We are going to search and find an answer, for those who say that the Tamil language doesn’t have the sacred quality. If it is said that the Tamil language that spreads Shaivaism and Vaishanavism among the people doesn’t have the sacred nature, what other language in the world can have divine nature?

Today, by excellently conducting the rituals in the Tamil language all over Tamil Nadu, Meylai Sivapuri is guiding it towards the crowning path.

Worship is through affection. God must be worshipped with weeping, with crying. So, we must only ask that archanai be conducted in temples in the Tamil language. Today, we need the feeling and awareness for that.

I heartily congratulate Singaaram Chettiyar who has taken up a great responsibility for this conference saying that the divine Tamil is a Tamil that removes evils.

  I totally oppose the belief that tamil does not have sacred quality. Take the case of Sashti Kavacham and Thiruppugazh. Can anyone find fault with these? Are these not the main prayers for lord Muruga? At the same time, just because we recite the original sanskrit slokas by translating them to tamil, all our problems are not going to get over! When will these a*s*o*e* realise that there are more important issues crying for attention? When I see that people in the other parts of the state are starving and have no access to food, education, etc my heart bleeds for them. The scoundrels who preach that tamil slokas should be recited in temples must first feed the poor tamil children in the villages and raise their standard of living above poverty line. We are driving away crows outside our house when the house is being plundered by thieves. When will the fools ever learn what is important and what is not?

  I absolutely agree with ponnuchwamee.. We should focus more on potential issues and try to bring things which needs everbody's attention in these forums. Who cares whether a sloka is recited in sanskrit or Tamil or even in a Swahili !!! Our problems are not going to be resolved by these things.. Let's move on to discuss potential issues..

  Why is language, culture and religion is so important to us? Social issues are important as well but the root cause of most problems are cause by the failure of laying the right foundation (i.e. language, culture and religion). Changing the crust will not solve anything, we must change the core.
  
  Only religion, language and culture can permeate to one's body and soul, that which has the power to transform 'a man' to 'The Man'.
  
  With pride and respect of one's own identity, great achievements can be attained by ordinary man put in any living condition.

  Actually the problem with whole tamil culture. The discussion is all surrounding brahmins-non brahmins, aryans, dravids, hinduism , vedas, thirukural, anti-hindi, white, black.
  Actually Tamils are inferior in all the subjects, they have no history, no culture, no good langauge so all these trouble, and so is this forum. Tamil is basically a rogue community, that is the reason they keep on fighting among themselves, with neighbours like srilanka,karnataka, kerala, with country like india. with white skinned people, with brahmins etc etc.

Wehad ashoka who came to srilanka to spread buddhism, even in north india there are about 20% of dark looking people compared to southindia where there are about 60% or more people like that.
