History of Conversions - Part II

In my earlier post, i discussed the scenario which prevailed in the 16th century Tamilnadu which motivated the parathavar fishermen of Kanyakumari district to embrace christianity.

Now this is an article written by an unbiased author and with historical facts which deal with the conversions in Tamilnadu and the author concludes stating that all the conversions were due to social pressures and none were motivated by any spiritual reasons or inclinations:

The article is written by sivasubramanian , an unbiased writer who blames the Hinduism too for these conversions.

REading the article , we can only sympathise with the converts and get angry at the practices prevailed in the Tamil Society at that age.

Let us hope that atleast now, we correct ourselves and prevent further conversions and let the converts also awaken themselves to the fact that their ancestors chose these alien religions out of sheer social compulsions and not out of free choice!
