Oil in cauvery basin

I understand oil exploration was done in the cauvery basin. Does anybody know how much oil is produced a day and if so how much revenue is obtained. Is TN getting anything from the revenue?
or is it just being siphoned away by the Centre.

Dude, they found Atom Bombs in Sivakasi. Our pal Dr Tamil Ninja claims that Tamils invented nukes and exported them later from sivakasi.

as per law, tamil nadu is entitled to an annual royalty for all the minerals mined in its territory; but the littoral waters are not counted for this purpose, nor is EEZ. in normal words, if the oil is struck on land, yes, tn gets royalty, but in sea, no royalty.

Hi all,
I am new to this site. As for Oil in Cauvery Basin, it must be noted that Cauvery Basin does not have much Oil. less than 1% of India's oil comes from Cauvery basin and that comes to no more than a few ten thousand Barrels of oil per day.
Oil From Cauvery basin is refined by madras refiniries. At present Oil exploration in India is opened to private sector; the revenues are shared by Central Govt/State Govt and the exploration company
Geologically, TamilNadu has no big energy/mineral sources except Neyveli and its lignite. We make that up by our excellent Human resource wealth.

The influential magazine, 'The Economist' had a wonderful article sometime back. During the 19th century, after all the native industry was wiped out by the british, the only mass occupation was in Textiles centered around Bombay. In the early 1950s, Agriculture around Punjab, the Gangetic basin became more popular. Central India invested a lot in mining. The only best thing the south could do is the knowledge industry. The south adopted technology (it was the first to get telephones, electricity, nuclear power).
Tamil Nadu is the hub of the indian auto industry.

Karuvayan, you seem so knowledgable. Why are you so viciously anti-muslim and anti-christian? For a moment think about the great sacrifices of President Kalam, Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad and christians like K J Yesudass.

IN fact TamilNadu is a leader in several industries. TamilNadu's strengths are in Textile Industry(Erode/Tiruppur story), Poultry, and Automobile industries. TNEB is one of the best managed electricity companies in India.
The biggest natural resource that we lack is water. Despite the 100 cm rains , TamilNadu is more water starved than even Rajastan. There is little interest in water conservation and someone should do something about that or else, we may have to import water from outside nations.

And despite this, there are some people with exceptionally high IQ who think all TN problems will be solved if we secede from India. Boy, am I glad to say that almost all these high IQ secessionist are not brahmins.
Take it from me. If TN secedes from India, they won't get water to even clean their a$$, let alone irrigate.

Big deal. All human beings have ape roots :-)
You guys left India centuries ago and now you suddenly started reminding us of your roots. Nice try.

Ranga, I left Sri Lanka 20+ years back, why are you criticizing Jegan and not me?
You must learn to respect other people's opinions no matter how ridiculous they are (except ofcourse Dr Krishna Bin Laden and co)

I have been reading the threads over this message board and read so much.
Apart from the absolutely meaningless hate mongering and filth everywhere, there is this ridiculous idea that TN should secede from India.
It appears to me that these ideas are just from those daydreamers, who have settled comfortably in Australia or Canada or USA(or some nice place overseas) and want to profit from the misery of local Indian , TamilNaDu Tamils.
A few sparrows wont make a summer. A few people who dream about independant TN wont make anything. The fact is , TamilNadu and its people are and will always want to be with part of India and we are more patriotic and nationalistic than ever before.

The water problem of TN is something serious and those Tamils/Indians who live abroad shouldnt mock at it, but offer serious solutions.
The problem is nothing to do with rains. In fact, right now Chennai and TN are getting very good rains. The current South West Monsoon is one of best in last 5 years
The water shortage is more due to near non existent concept of conserving water. It would be good if some in this forum talk about these things.

any job is better than a regular job of getting a$$ kicked by sinhalese. HA HA.
You guys have been fighting for how many years. What did you achieve. Not even a country of yours.
Bast$$d. Just why don't u shut up in indian affairs. You started this prank post to incite tamils against Delhi.
Sometime back u started another similar post "does indian union favour sindhis, punjabis and gujaratis since they have all the money". I never saw u replying to the message that the same sindhis, gujaratis and punjabis are more successful than tamils even outside India.
My instinct tells me to never trust a lankan tamil and I am happy that each passing day, I am proved right.
