pallars main profession is agriculture.they are not available in arcot, chengalpat, dharmapuri, chennai dist. pallis (vanniyars) are doing agriculture in these places. pallis & pallars are militant in nature.Dr. Ramadoss ayya never visited pasumpon because de does not want to hurt pallars feelings. both were warriors. still the heriditory is visible.

  Little bit of history of tamil nadu before the arrival of Nayakkars would make a false historian like Devendra Raja in his place.
  
  1. Before Nayakkars came, the Pandians were ruling Madurai and they were the largest military power in Tamil nadu as Chozhas had by then weakened after the ascent of Maravarman and Jadvarmans.
  
  2. The later chozhas were obviouly could not have been Pallars as Kulothunga Chozhan was only a half-tamil.
  
  3. Both the royalties had so much of intermarriages with tamil and non-tamil royalty and commoners, it is practically very difficult to put a caste to the royalty.
  
  4. Hence what we are left with are the nobility of later Chozas and Pandians as the Roylaty can not be given a caste. (But a number of maravar zamindars in southern tamilnadu consider themselves to be descendant of pandians as the last Pancha Pandians ruled from Tirunelveli area).
  
  5. During this period of later Pandians and Chozhas, obviously Vellalas all over, Maravars of Pandia Kingdom, Kallars of Chozha Kingdom and Vanniars of Thondaimandalam were very powerful if one has to go by the references and titles bestowed upon them by the Kings and these smaller feudal lords married into the royalty.
  
  If one has to go by Devendra's history that Pallars became untouchables because they were rulers and warriors during the later Chozha and Pandian periods, then velalars, maravars, kallars and vanniars should have become untouchables as they controlled most of the lands and armies. But in reality, Nayakkars co-opted these groups excepting vanniars (vanniars lost out as the Thondaimandalam was more under Arcot and other Nawabs than Telugu Nayakkars and also was closer to Andhra/Karnataka where the Telugu Naikers could access their own human resources)and made sure they divided their spoils with these groups too.
  
  Though my intention is not to put down Pallars as a caste, i feel that a correct understanding of one's own past as well as the present status is important to have the necessary drive to change the future. Otherwise, Pallars would end up in living in a false world like the Pillais and Mudaliars of today. Affluent ones like Devendra Raja who has access to internet would anyway thrive, leaving their poor cousins in a false world without even the Reservation. I am sure Devendra Raja has benefited out of Reservation but has the cheek to insult Dr.Ambedkar. Come off, man!

  kallars[mukkulathors]belong to "paalai'land and they involved in robbery. Government evolved from agrarian society [marudam] only not from robbers.They were used by nayakkars. But British treated them as 'CRIMINALS"[KUTRA PARAMPARAI].Dmk period they gained political advantage.ADMK PERIOD IS PEAK FOR THEM.Nadars faced untouchability like humiliation. Since they are out of sc list they could improve and people are eating in "saravana bhawan".What ever I told about mallar[pallar/devendrakula vellalar] is from lit,history written by indian&foreign authers,news paper clippings only.

  Yeah dear folks what mr.devendra rajah says is true.
  It might be hard for you to digest as it was for me ,but time has had its relapse and I started to enquire deep into its roots about the origin of this caste and bingo!!!!!!!!!!!
  They were originated from tanjore and they were warriors before they were farmers and warriors means living upto the word.Not like some of those theives who call themselves as warrior caste.
  These people are noble and honest in their behaviour and they are ready to fight at a will when theey are called.There are some invertions that took place which I shall not include here(because it will be of no use to monkeys who worship monkeys).If you want to find the truth about PALLAR just be plain and start to find out the truth instead of sitting before a monitor and giving out abuses.I can undestand from your talk that you monkeys are terribly upset about some misguided folk regaining their diginity
