Can Tamils be a new class of people? Because there are unacceptable parts in the Hindu religious system that are superstitious and worse of all is the caste system that plagues the society while it benefits certain groups of people and hurts another.Instead of pointing fingers or mud slinging can we begin a new life? What will it take? Perhaps we can follow VaLLuvar and call ourselves as 'vaLLuvargaL' (only a suggestion). Let us think and come up with some viable alternatives. Not just a thought to live by but by a practical idea. It may become a way of life who knows!.

  Yes, it would be a good advise that Tamilians should at least know their Tirukkural.
  
  But by meaning a new class, are you meaning a new religion ? I think this forum is campaigning for a new social order, not a new religion. And Sir, do you realise that you yourself have indulged in mud-slinging against Hinduism here ?

  If and when we accept vaLLuvam as a way of life it ultimately will become a religion. Any way of life with prayers, spiritualism and moral codes will be a religion. That's my believe.
  
  But I wanted our friends to come up with some thoughts. Let's face it. We have to go somewhere in order to be free from the fetters of this dehumanising some of the vedic principals.
  
  Talking about mud slinging, if I've done it, it is against the institution, which is the culprit and not any single person or group of people.

  I think, Tamil culture is a conglomeration of all ideals of life anyone could think of. I believe, it is based on deep scientific facts. Therefore, its dictionary does not contain a word "division" or "caste", no Tamils would call another human being as "lower", and neither any Tamils would accept anybody as "higher". If you are trying to create a new social order, you will be dividing, inappropriate for Tamil culture. So, what I would suggest is, first we individuals live up to the Tamil standards, grow our children up to the standards, and show our neighbors by examples. The new societal order would be created by itself; we do not have to anything towards it.
