In a tamil meeting recently, I hv heard that our Tamil Kings were been to various parts of Asia and achieved great victories. But they were failed to record their victories in the History. Is it true?! Even in SEAsia, countries like Laos, Cambodia(where the world's biggest Hindu temple is still there!!), Siam (Thailand), Vietnam in their history we can see a lot of notes about some foriegn invaders about 800 yrs. back. Some of the names were very similar to our Tamil Kings like Mahaendravarman, etc. Anybody have any idea on this topic?!

No, there are inscriptions found in temples. Uraiyur Temple has inscriptions recording the victories of the Cholas.

You would probably be better of reading the books on epigraphy of Tamil Nadu published by the Archeological Survey of India.

It would be the best source.
